Explanation
The goal of this project was to find an abstract still life image and to replicate in the studio. I found an image of a bottle of soap on top of a brick and used that as my reference image. The first step I took was to get similar highlights on the right and left edge of the bottle and I accomplished this by using two soft-boxes behind the subject and at an angle so that only a fraction of the light was hitting the side. I only had three lights to work with so that last one was placed high up and in front of the bottle to both light up the subject from the top down along with light up the background a little. If I had a fourth light, then I would have placed in behind and below the subject facing the background so that I could more accurately replicate the original reference image.

Once I had taken the images in the lab, I used Lightroom Classic to choose the best image and make some minor adjustments which included correcting the color temperature, which was caused by the coloring on the soft-boxes.
Lighting Diagram
I used a program call Set.A.Light 3D v2.5 to create a light diagram that positions the lights and camera where I had them in the studio, along with all of the settings that were applied when I took the picture.
